Glossary term
Churn Rate
The percentage of subscribers who cancel during a given period.
What it means in detail
Churn rate is the percentage of subscribers who cancel their subscription in a given period (usually monthly). For example, if you start the month with 100 subs and 15 cancel, your churn rate is 15%. Reducing churn is typically more profitable than acquiring new subscribers — most creators see 30-50% monthly churn baseline.
Examples
- 100 subs at start, 15 cancel = 15% churn
- Healthy: under 30% monthly
- High alert: above 50%
